I would probably slowly stop texting her. If she asked if anything is wrong then I'd say it wasn't working out, but if there has been no talk of exclusiveness, I'd just let it fizzle out.

yea, i think you can stop initiating conversation - and if she reaches out explain politely you arent that into it.

It does sort of depend on the woman and/or the relationship you have. At 4 dates, if both sides can kind of feel it I can see where a text will suffice. If she wont see it coming I still say call. Ive had plenty friends who talk about how much they like a guy they've only been a couple dates on.
