The Chick-fil-A located in the mall was not revered as the highly overrated place that it is now.

I think it was outside one of the Godchaux's entrances. Lots of cool little toys, planes, models, etc.

Back then Cullens and TBR was all the city had for toys. Cullens was connected to Capital Schwinn near Cortana and BMX racing was huge. That plus Putt Putt, Leo's Roller Rink, Circle Bowl, and Fun Fair park and it was Mecca for entertaining kids.

It was a good time.

I think I blew a nut 3 years before I was physically able to when Children's Palace opened.

I used to mix automotive paints...It's a scientific fact that women can choose colors better than men. And back then, people used to actually retire from Sears.

I was at the Albertson's in Hammond Aire in 1993. If you used to come steal liquor and condoms from there, I was probably pushing buggies in the parking lot.

Walden Books

I miss the days of Waldens and Babbages.

Used to buy comic books at Waldens on Fridays when I'd go to the mall with my folks. And I can remember perusing the racks at Babbages for IBM compatible games. Some kids got Nintendos, I had an IBM-off brand with the 5.25" drive.

I used to work in the Sears Paint Department at Cortana. If you bought paint from there in 1993-94, it might have been from me...

We would order those just to hear him repeat it back. "OH You wanta da Spreet O'JOHY?"

I was a huge LSU baseball fan growing up and I remember my shock and dismay to see Tookie Johnson managing the Taco Bell in Cortana. I thought he was above that!

Also, the 6 foot tall blonde that sold perfume for Dillard's!!!
