Exactly. If we dug into any level of government, I bet we'd find similar cronyism. We're just somehow surprised that Broome, who everyone with a brain knew was a black activist, is giving money to other black activists. . . . ??

Oddly C Denise and Delgado are talking back and forth and sound like they're working together on this. It's an oddly friendly exchange between them.

She's basically siding with Silky and saying Broome shouldn't have thrown him under the bus.

Why would Delgado ever team up with someone like that?

Because he's a slimy politician that will do anything he needs to do to score the most menial of points. frick him and her both.

No. you're missing my point. My point is we need more focus on all of these fricking clowns. I'm pissed to think about my taxes being thrown away at every turn all the while these jackasses press for more and more taxes.

This is why I generally vote no on new taxes. Baton Rouge doesn't have an income problem, they have a spending problem

The data portion of the BRAVE program was provided by LSU, at a cost of $125,000 per year. When Broome took office in January she canceled that contract. Since that time Baton Rouge has lost the federal funding for the BRAVE program and by all indications it appears dead – which is a bad sign given the sizable spike in violent crime in the Capitol City this year compared to 2016

This shite right here in conjunction with what she actually used the money for should initiate immediate recall provisions.

There is a group quietly working on that. I've seen their Facebook page. They may not succeed, but Broome is giving them plenty of ammunition to use against her. Didn't the head of the BRPD Police Union recently call for her resignation? The recall effort may end up falling short, but I'm glad that they're at least trying.

She was so committed to BRAVE that she cut out the crime data gathering portion of the program that helped direct law enforcement assets to the true trouble areas of NBR

Why spend money to determine efficient resource allocation and quantify efficacy when you can set things up to do what you want and no one has the convenience of data to prove anything.

That's the real key. Power.

Power to allIocate resources where and how you want with no oversight

Power to have more money to kickback allies.

And most importantly, power to ensure that despite all of your bleating, no problems actually get solved and conditions improved. There is simply too much to gain by keeping a demographic downtrodden and blaming another demographic for their woes, and condone violence against them.

It's funny, as much as Nazis and shite gets thrown at the federal level, this is as close to "literally Hitler" I've seen in domestic politics.

She's at war with the police. I think she sees these programs as targeting black people because the results say that they commit the most crimes and require the most police attention. I think it's all part of her plan to completely gut the police department to placate her ghetto constituency.

Absolutely.

She's following the same playbook as every black democrat controlled city in the country. Don't fix anything, let things get worse, then blame it on racism, cops, and lack of money. For some reason the monolithic black demographic buys into this shite every damn time.

I am so glad that federal grants are seen as free money, it's like no person or business had to come up with it. Oh yea, and that national debt thing!

I believe every person holding office is corrupt in some way.
It could be the mayor of the smallest town in the state & he has awarded a contract to a family member or didn't pave the road of an enemy.

I think most go in with good intentions there is just too much crookedness to deal with, which turns into a few small favors which turns into nothing but greed.

SWB messed up by allowing ignorant race baiters who can't keep their mouths shut into city business

It's gonna be so hilarious if SWB goes down all because Silky Slim couldn't keep his loud mouth zipped.

If the keep digging, I wonder what kind of financial connection they'll find to Gravy?

Advocate 7/19

The federal government has denied a request by city-parish officials to extend funding for the Baton Rouge Area Violence Elimination project, citing a series of concerns with the administration of a grant that has been credited with reducing bloodshed in the city's most violent neighborhoods.

quote:

The denial delivered an embarrassing blow to city-parish officials, who in recent weeks have blamed former Mayor-President Kip Holden's administration for failing to make use of the grant dollars even as it touted the success of BRAVE.
