Well I told his brother to donate to charities. I mean I donate to the local food pantry and humane society every month, and the local food bank overhead (5%) is insane and super efficient. Best of all they help anyone. But he said he doesn't trust any.

Maybe your BF thinks the offer for money is prompted by something other than sincere heart.

Not income but if it's a sizable amount the brother may have to file a gift tax return.

You can only donate so much to charities.
There is a certain amount you can be given before having to claim, not sure what it is though.
Just get your bf to ask him why he insists on giving money. It could turn out they're both helping each other out.

This is a perfect setup for your BF. HE HAS NO DEBT, AND HOUSE ALMOST PAID OFF! He worked hard to get there, and yet his sad arse family thinks he's stupid for not taking a handout, and you seem to agree. This is what our country is becoming. Instead of celebrating someone getting to this point we pose questions on why they should accept money (for zero reason apparently other than his brother has it) to add to his bank account. Sad.
