If you dont already have an established routine of exercise I would join a month to month gym so you arent stuck with an inexpensive piece of equipment if you dont stick with it.

Waste of $$$$. Find a cheap gym and don't sign an annual contract.

Yep, or do a homework out like p90x that requires minimal equipment. I find it way harder to be consistent about a home workout though. Seems like a cant get in the right mindset at home.

It sucks. The best in home workout equipment is a pull up bar. 20 bucks and you van do various exercises with it. Even put it on the floor for push ups

Except you can't work half of your body with a pullup bar.

You can't do everything, but for 20 bucks you can do a lot. A gym is the best option always

You can work out your legs without any equipment.

Trust me mouton doesn't need your workout advice.

Probably not. I just don't necessarily think a gym is always the best option.

Gotcha. I need to do more heavy lifting, to be honest. I'm kind of over the lean look. I know it's great for the beach, but we hardly get to take a vacation.

Im to the point that I am not concerned with really trying to add mass. I feel my best when I am at a lower body fat %. Kind of sucks not looking like much with a shirt on though.
