If Stonewall Jackson hadn’t been killed that bastard would have been in Andersonville

Not really, in terms of being ahead of the curve and in-field accomplishments (two of the most important aspects of generalship) who would you put ahead of him?

Is this some kind of a troll or joke? Grant isn’t even in the top 100 US military commanders (counting confederate commanders in this).

The union army was twice the size as the confederate army and had the benefit of superior logistics.

The 34th President was a better military commander.

Grant was just smart enough to know he had a massive advantage in manpower and logistics so he just kept pounding the south into submission.

He wasnt some sort of genius military tactician.

I don't have much respect for the union millitary. They stole my grandfather's horse in Nashville riding back from surrendering to Sherman in GA. And forced him to walk back home to KY.

No lost cause here. Just distaste.

So Grant was the only intelligent general the Union had because not one of them could figure this out before Grant did?

Yep. Nothing like expert testimony from a woman declared insane by the courts and moved into a mental institute. Not to mention her brother was an officer in the Confederate army.
