I wasn't in there long enough to attain "shite", but I don't recall being shaken down for my socks. I'd have probably left them though.

n regards to the targeting of Gruver during the hazing, I've heard that is was in an effort to get him to quit the fraternity.

They were trying to get him to quit because his mother supposedly threaten the fraternity, that she would report to the university that they had alcohol at other events where its prohibited, if they cut Gruver. This was after he had told his mother that he was afraid they were about to cut him.

Not claiming any of this is true, just relaying things that I've heard that could explain why they were targeting him.

Hindsight is 20/20, but if mom really did this, I can see as to why they'd be targeting him specifically. Making a kid's life a living nightmare is a common practice when they want him to quit, because national organizations have made it so difficult to cut kids, that they force them to voluntarily drop. I've seen it all over the country.

There is not much that pisses off a bunch of fraternity kids more than a pledge's mom calling up and threatening them. I'm not saying what they did is right, but this would make a lot of sense.

I think they lied to the investigators. It doesn't seem like they were studying the Bible.

Lol at those nerds. If they tried to haze me I’d laugh in their face.

Police said pledges were then told to make a single file line and go upstairs, where Gott threw mustard and hot sauce on them, the reports say. The pledges then lined up in the hallway with their nose and toes against the wall while loud music played and a strobe light was flashing.

This is the gay shite that turns people off to fraternities.

"Remember that time we threw mustard and hot sauce all over each others bodies, ha, awesome!"

Forcing? I didn't click the link, but unless they physically held him and poured alcohol down his throat or he did it out of fear that they would harm him, then he made a choice and is responsible for the outcome.

the down votes to this correspond pretty well to the pussification of America. Keep em coming.

PS, they didn't make him do shite.

Being forced to drink was never part of our pledgship. That was made very clear from the beginning.
