Wow. South of Coursey. That is something. I guess they are moving the ghetto dividing line from Florida Blvd to Airline? That's a huge swath of territory to give up to the zoo animals. Doesn't the proposed St. George start around Airline and Siegen?

I believe there is an apartment complex on S. Sherwood Forest Blvd, between the new Pita Pit and Golden Corral (closed) that has a history of excessive police call-outs.

Not sure if this is the area in question today ...

Most apartments along Sherwood are so dilapidated. The ones behind Racetrac across from Piccadilly are atrocious.

I cut through Afton Oaks quite a bit and in general I agree. At least somebody bought those and they are being completely remodeled. Hopefully that will help some but I'm still skeptical due to the clientele. They look a lot better so far anyway.

That would be 4900 block of S Sherwood not 4000 block. 4000 block is where the old community coffee building is located I think Latter and Blum now.

I worked there waaaay back in the day when I started out. Always had a bad rep. Thus, the name change.

Apartments eventually always turn trashy no matter where you put them.

They caught 2 of the 3. Just some good old boys on summer break from school being knuckleheads.

WBRZ

ETA: These details are horrifying.

quote:

Detectives say the victim’s roommate gave Donte Tate and Jamarcus Tate a ride in his vehicle early Monday morning. The two eventually directed the man to a location in North Baton Rouge where they met Linson. The three suspects then allegedly battered, robbed and tied up the victim. They then forced him into the trunk of his vehicle. The victim managed to free himself and escape to a nearby business on River Road where he contacted the Baton Rouge Police Department in reference to the carjacking and robbery. He also contacted EBRSO out of concern for his roommate’s safety after the suspects took his residential keys and apartment complex gate access key. Deputies responded to his apartment and located his roommate deceased inside.

Why are people so damn gullible and naive?

Holy shite. Roommate gave them a ride, they then carjacked him, he escapes, they go to his apartment and once inside kill his roommate who had no knowledge of any of this? Jesus Christ.

I work with the deceased's father in Houma. A deputy came inform him yesterday afternoon at work that his son was murdered. He is a white dude.

I went looking at the victims facebook. Not what I was expecting. Not a thug at all. Looked like a decent guy.

I don't want to speculate, but due to a lot of the liberal nature of his posts, I'd bet he and the roommate were way to trusting and PC to see the danger of culcha. No sane person should give those guys a ride, especially to NBR.

I remember when you used to be able to tell the difference between N. Sherwood and S. Sherwood.
You know K&B is going to downvote you for that comment

Swore you were gonna say K&B use to be the marker between the 2.

His dad lives down the bayou in Chauvin I believe. I don't know him that well. Someone said the son was gay, but looks like he had a girlfriend on facebook.

Yeah, those have been shite for a while. As has the area behind it, to the west...the neighborhood around Foxy's. It's a slum as well.

That's his sister. He's had a boyfriend, scroll over a few. I presume that was the roommate.
