Those 4 boats that passed them up are under legal obligation to help. A boater is compelled by law to help another who has been involved in some sort of injury-causing crash.

Is this true? What law(s)?

The guys that crashed said the boats you see drive by all circled back to help out. Y'all realize slamming back on the throttle with all the boats trailing would have been a terrible idea right?

Public Act 58 of 1995 requires a boat operator:

"…involved in a collision, accident, or other casualty, and the operator of any other vessel, to the extent that he or she can do so without serious danger to his or her own vessel, crew, and passengers, shall render reasonable assistance to a person affected by the collision, accident, or other casualty, including the transportation of the injured person to a physician or surgeon for medical or surgical treatment, if it is apparent that treatment is necessary or when requested by the injured person."

Hence, a boater is compelled by law to help another who has been involved in some sort of injury-causing crash. No law exists requiring boaters to help another who, say, is adrift on the lake with a busted propellor

So a Michigan law would be used to prosecute boaters in Florida?

It is a bunch of college kids competing. They are all flying around with their hair on fire to get to their spot.

I have seen them in action, and it is ludicrous how they behave on the water

Hunter and Conner? Imagine my surprise when I clicked on the video link and they turned out to be two white guys! I guess you just never can tell.
