My son is moving to Hammond area for a new job. He is considering a home in Blythewood in Ponchatoula. Anyone lived there or still a resident? What is it like?
Environment for younger children?
How is the Homeowners Association?
Crime?
Schools?
Seems to be a fairly tranquil area. Any thoughts?

It's pontchatoula. It's like Mandeville except older and shittier and not as much money.

Can your son find out for himself? I find it odd that his parent is asking for this information.

Are you vetting all of this for him? If we tell you it's a horrible area with shitty people and declining property value would he listen to you?

My son's gf lives in bella gardens, inside blythewood, I drive that several times a week.
The houses are nice for starter type homes, but the roads in and out are shite. Mpst of Brown road flooded in the last two floods here, It's inconvenient to get to, there's no interstate access, unless you want to travel down sisters road which is even worse and has zero shoulder and a 1 lane bridge. for mid 150-170's homes I'd look elsewhere if I were your son, there are better options available.

No shite. Talk about an overreaction. What an awesome father he must be with an attitude like that.
