Someone has probably already said this, but it's most definitely a UTI. I actually just went through this with my puppy.

And this is what she has been diagnosed with. White blood cells revealed that she had a tremendous amount of bacteria that could have been caused from an issue of diarrhea that existed within her system about a month ago for an extended period of time.

Going on an antibiotic for 14 days and Veterinarian believes she will start to see relief within 48 hours.

All in all, about the best news I could have hoped for.

Absolutely. I have her medicine right on top of her dog food container. She gets fed twice daily and will get her medication twice daily.

errrrr, I am guessing there is a pretty good rea$on for that...and it may not have anything to do with how nutritous it is for the dog....

Science Diet and Ideal Balance is all I've ever fed my dogs, past and present.

I've never had an issue with the product and the dogs seem to love it.

The vet didn't prescribe a special food as well? I'm guessing he/she must've found many hard granules in the urine to necessitate it, but my puppy had to take a full round of antibiotics and eat this food for 2 months, she's actually still not finished the food!

Apparently the food helps their kidneys to process water more easily and eliminates the hard granules, which cause irritation, and hence the blood. Just make sure you get her urine checked again in a couple weeks.

The antibiotics will have your pup good as new in 48 hours for sure though. I know what you're going through and feel your pain.

This is my little girl, almost 3.5 weeks now. She's a silver lab for those wondering...

Great news to hear. Glad she's alright. I know I absolutely freak the frick out if my English Bulldog's eye lid so much as twitches the wrong way.

He has joint problems, common to Englishs so we give him two of these supplement pills a day. It pains me to see him tweak his leg chasing tree rats and have to limp around for a few days.

I'm sure you really love your dog and I'm sure you love the breed, but please don't ever buy another one. If a breed can't procreate on its own, and has to be artificially inseminated to cause pregnancy, it isn't meant to exist.

Those dogs have so many problems because they simply aren't designed to live, their skeletal system is designed for human pleasure and aesthetics, and nothing more. In my opinion, it's inhumane.

Beautiful dog you have there!

He has her on Sulfamethoxazole | Treimethoprim 480 mg 1/2 tablet, 2 x per day.

Last night, she ended up having an accident (urine) in her kennel around midnight. I had taken her out around 10 p.m. before I went to bed. Cleaned it up and cleaned her up.

I then went back to sleep and woke up at 4 a.m. and she had no accidents (getting 4 hours out of her is fairly good, considering she is only 3 months old and with a UTI). I've been with her this morning and she is in much better spirits (she's starting to nibble and bite again).

Not urinating multiple times as she used to (outside), which is a good thing. Veterinarian said to keep her hydrated as much as possible with this medicine. No restrictions with her food that she is currently taking.

Thanks, your's is beautiful as well. That picutre I posted was taken maybe two weeks ago, probably less, and she's already gained almost 10 lbs. You'll be amazed how much they grow at that age in a week's time.

Our's was urinating CONSTANTLY, both inside and outside, waking up at all hours of the night whining to go out, etc. It was really a hinderance to house training, but the antibiotics took care of it really quickly and things went back to normal. We haven't had any accidents in the kennel since the UTI cleared up, she's also sleeping throughout the night, although when she hears the alarm go off in the morning she won't let us snooze, she's ready to go out immediately. That probably has more to do with the fact that we also feed her in the morning and she wants her damn breakfast lol.

ETA: We were also told to let her have as much water as she wanted, which was a lot. Just be aware that as soon as your pup drinks, it's time to go out, pretty much immediately.

Also, spotting (like you were talking about before) is an early sign of a UTI. If you see her start to do that after she gets better, there's a good chance she's developed another one.

She's from Alpine, TX (West Texas). I flew into Midland | Odessa and the owner drove to meet me there.

We found out about the owner (breeder) by chance. My wife was in the Houston Hobby airport and ran into a couple from Ohio that was on their way back from Midland | Odessa. They had just purchased my little girl's brother. Spoke for quite a bit and exchanged information.

I then reached out to the owner and we spoke nearly every day for 1 week before I decided to fly out there. We had been looking for a Dobie for well over 6 months.

I'll certainly be more aware now that I know.

I'm glad to hear your dog is doing much better. Mine appears on the road to recovery. What a difference a day makes and of course, her medicine.

Dropped my husky puppy (male) off at the VET this morning for the same symptoms. Blood was mixed with the urine though, but he was peeing constantly when outside of his crate.

Crazy thing is he won't let it out in the crate. Hoping I can get the same news you got...that it's just a UTI

Hopefully you have found this thread beneficial. All I can say is I now feel much better today than yesterday and my little girl does as well.

to getting the same results. The medication that I posted earlier on previous page appears to be working great for my dog.
