Grew up there. It was great for families during its boom in the 90's. Loved how everyone revolved around little league baseball at the local field.

But off the beaten path there were pockets of trash where drug dealers and junkies reside. Plus it was at one point was a haven for KKK and Skinheads. It has grewn out of that when I left.

I still feel it is a decent and lovable small town.

I played Dixie League during my time there. I sucked at baseball as a kid.

If I'm remembering correctly, the town has a total area of 4.0 square miles (10.3 km2), all land.

Elle Evans, former Miss Teen Louisiana 2008; "Miss October 2009" Playmate for Playboy is from there.

I have a friend from there who is 34 (I'm pretty sure that's right). Anyway, he lives in Orange County California now. I don't know much about the Blanchard, though. He didn't talk about it much.

I bought my house (off Hwy. 1) almost two years ago and we love it here. It's quiet, good neighbors, and I can fish from my backyard.

Although, I do get a tad nervous in the summer when my dago skin is dark because I hear the KKK is still around.

I also grew up there in the 90s. Saw KKK on their horses once and couldn’t believe it. I also sucked at baseball but played every summer. That and “biddie ball” at DBMS and Northwood
