After seeing various past threads on the OT, I have noticed there seems to be an interest in the biker world. Almost all the threads I have seen have been overwhelmingly negative towards bikers.

Here is a group with a worthwhile cause... What does the rant have to say about this group?

Bikers Against Child Abuse

BACA's Mission Statement
"Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. We exist as a body of Bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. We stand ready to lend support to our wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization. We work in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children. We desire to send a clear message to all involved with the abused child that this child is part of our organization, and that we are prepared to lend our physical and emotional support to them by affiliation, and our physical presence. We stand at the ready to shield these children from further abuse. We do not condone the use of violence or physical force in any manner, however, if circumstances arise such that we are the only obstacle preventing a child from further abuse, we stand ready to be that obstacle."

I could give a rat's arse about bikers. To me, they're just losers in mom jeans.

If a valiant effort on your part and I do appreciate the effort. But as you can already see most here will not be interested in it because it does not fit the Hollywood fictional depiction of what we're supposed to be.

This really is a stupid fricking thread... I mean for every biker saves child story you link we could probably link 20 more about bikers selling drugs or shooting people.

Such a stupid thread.

That's because when people do bad shite, it makes the news. This past Saturday my Club helped deliver a pick-up truck full of can tabs to the Roland McDonald House in Birmingham. There was not a single member of the media present.

I really don't give a flying Frick about peoples' personal opinions about bikers. I didn't really intend on actually changing anyone's opinion. I thought the thread title would grab some attention, and maybe this thread would draw some awareness to a group that is doing good, helping abused children right here in Baton Rouge and around the world. These people are ridiculous. As you alluded to, it doesn't fit the stereotype, so instead of tearing down the stereotype some people will just pretend they never saw this.

I never knew the term "rantard" was so accurate.

Those are truckers... not bikers.

The bikers were probably busy shooting innocent people and raping babies

Yeah, it is what it is. AS for he BACA folks, I've got nothing but tons of respect for them and their dedication to helping abused kids.

You seem to have a pretty bad temper. You must be a biker.

I, for one, am glad to hear that those kids will no longer be without can tabs.

Lots of the bikers I see are in violent gangs, probably pimping out women and dealing meth.

Huge difference between recreational bikers and hardcore bikers. Overwhelming majority are weekend warriors and they do a lot of fundraising for charity through their local MC.
