I got busted bringing 1 of my stepdad's Playboy mag to 4th grade (1991).
2 of my classmates/friends were in recess detention & I had told them that I brought it earlier on the day. But I wasn't going to show them until the bus ride home. They went & got it out of my backpack while everyone else was out at recess. Our teacher caught them but they didn't rat me out. The address label on front cover did that. My teacher knew my parents socially. So, I was cooked. But I didn't know that. I got home & was confronted by my stepdad. He brought down the verbal fury for a few hours as I tried to lie my way out of it. I had no idea about the address label & he just let me dig my own grave.

I got whooped so bad that night after my mom got home & they decided on the total number + grounding timeline that I couldn't sit in a chair or the toilet for about a week. My teacher knew I was in big trouble because she knew my stepdad was stern. She asked me how I was the next morning but she saw it in my eyes. She felt so bad & let me borrow a kindergarten nap mat to lay on in the back of the classroom & do my classwork.

That was the last time I really liked to my parents about anything major. I learned that you got punished way worse than if you just fess up from the get go.

What you got, OT?

My mom was the wild one, my dad never cared. I was more scared of disappointing them. I know when I was younger my mom tried to beat my arse for something i did and i looked at her and said i dont feel pain. Took the hanger and beat myself with it and she still tells this story to ppl.

Of all the dumb shot I did not shaking hands after a pee wee football game got me the worst beatdown in my life.

In hindsight I'm pretty sure cotton was .40 a pound and wasn't picking worth a shite and ole dad took it out on me

My buddy's dad poured a new slab for his motor home. He told us not to walk on it until it dried. He went inside and we immediately walked all over it.

I had on Fozzie the Bear shoes and my friend had shoes with stars and comets all over the tread. There were little imprints of our shoes all over the concrete but we denied involvement. My dad beat my arse

My parents were out of town and I was staying with my grandparents. I was being a smart arse at wschool and my grandfather had to leave his dentistry practice to come get me. He was shorter than me, and he “chopped me down to size.”

My middle brother’s head went through the drywall one morning before church.

My dad had us all kneel in raw rice on linoleum floors while he finished getting dressed, then one at a time we got the belt. I can only imagine how our red puffy faces looked walking in to church.

He also made us patch the wall when we got home. You can still see where we didn’t feather the edges. It’s always funny telling that story,

My little brother and I got into a fisticuffs and I had him in a sleeper hold. I was legit about to choke him out. My dad (6’2 270 former football player) hit me open hand in the back of the head and my head bounced off the refrigerator.

Pretty sure I had that one a comin.

Me and my dad are about the same size now but my old man was 6'4" 225 when I was a kid and intimidating as hell. He was a great dad but I had a healthy amount of fear of him too.

Nearly every Sunday after church. If I made any noise, talked, dozed off, or countless other trivial things. I have been whipped with hands, belts, and a shoe. Basically whatever was in her hand, but the worst was a metal clothes hanger.

My dad warned to not ride my bike in the street, we had sidewalks. Well one day I decided that I would ride my bike in the street, pulled off a BMX boys move, jumped the street drain and sailed across the intersection nearly getting hit by a car.

My dad seen all of it and made me go inside, he took out the paddle and whooped my arse really good. Each syllable was a paddle. . I Told You Not To Ride Your Bike In The Street. I think I would have been better off letting the car hit me.

Having your arse whipped used to be part of life. Then America got all pussified and now nobody knows which bathroom to use and dudes are asking the OT which male manicure set they should buy.

It was not abuse.

It was the moment you learned that:
1. you were not in charge.
2. You were subject to authority.
3. You were better off listening to advice than going your own way.
4. You remembered how loving your dad acted toward you when you just obeyed him. How much he gave you because he loved you even when you did not deserve it.
5. How you wanted nothing more that to get back to the hugs and fun times before you disrupted it with your poor decisions.
6. That your feelings did not matter rather your decisions matter in life. Those decisions have consequences.

Those moments of discipline are where you first begin to develop character. Where you begin to become a person capable of responsibility rather than a babbling child mostly concerned with your emotions.

Without those spankings, you end up posting questions about men’s manicure sets on message boards.

My brother and I were playing in our rooms and my dad told us to go feed the dogs, but we ignored him and kept playing. He told us again, we ignored him. He didn't tell us a third time. He was a police officer and came in with his gun belt. My brother was closest and I ran to feed the dogs. My brother got his arse whooped and then I got it worse cause I ran. Then my brother beat the shite out of me for running like a bitch. I didn't get whippings all that often growing up because we respected my parents so the ones I did get were earned.

My wife (no pics) had to go out of town for work so my dad being retired came down for a couple of days to help out with my son. Picking him up from school because I work about 45 minutes from home. Well my son had been acting up at school. So I talked to him the morning when I dropped him off and told him he needed to be good that day and his Pop was going to pick him up and he better get a good report. My son asked why and I said you know how I get mad and get on to you when you get into trouble at school and he said yea. I said your Pop is picking you up today and who do you think I learned that from. He hasn't had anything but good reports at school since then.

Ain't that the truth....

The last "whooping" I got was when I was a mouthy teenager. I was sitting on the couch mouthing off and my Dad came over and grabbed me by the front of the shirt and jerked me up off the couch. My momentum caused me to run right into his fist. That was the LAST time I was mouthy to my Dad.

It's funny though how times have changed. My Dad literally lets things slide that from his grandkid's, that would have gotten my brother and I's arse kicked. My head still has whip lash turning to look at my Dad to see his reaction when I hear some stuff come out of my nephew's mouth.

Got caught skipping class at Ouachita Jr High. Principal asked if I wanted a whooping or him to call my dad. I chose whooping since I knew my dad’s would be worse. Fricker whipped me, then called my dad I got more of a beating when I got home. Granted I had already been suspended once for fighting earlier in the year.

One practice when I was about 11, our coach got tied up at work and never showed up. One of my teammates/friends decided he was going to be a total idiot and was harassing the rest of us. Well, when he started in on me, I told him to "go home and F your mother some more." He promptly told his mom the exact quote. We both got our asses beat down and then had to get on the phone and apologize to each other and me his mom.

My Pops was a WWII combat veteran and I knew that he had seen & done some bad things on Okinawa.

He worked for Fortune 500 companies throughout his working career, his responsibilities included travelling nationwide (by commercial air) on a weekly basis.

Me at age 12 was not allowed to ride on our next door neighbors' minibikes or trail bikes. I knew that.

But since my dad was about 1,500 miles away that day, I decide to do it. (Ride a minibike around our neighborhood)

That minibike had no muffler, so as I passed by other neighbor's houses , they would yell at me as it was a disturbance.

I (in my 12 year-old brain) figured it would be a good opportunity to flip the complainants off while riding around.

Fast forward a couple of days later when my dad got home.

Not

good

We first went around the neighborhood and I got to apologize to each of the folks I'd offended.

Then, on the walk thorough the woods home, it got switchy.

That was the last corporal punishment I got and definitely the worst administration.

I can't remember exactly what i did, i think i lied about something, and I got to "go downstairs and pick out a stick". Got beat with that on my bare arse. Remember putting my hands back there because it hurt so bad but that wasn't a great idea. Hurt my fricking hands.

My dad was a fan of the "knuckle-sammich" at the top of the head. Or if public the pinch behind the arm. The kind he used his nails, so it freaking hurt.

There was one I can look back, and say I didmt deserve it though. We were shadow boxing in the living room. Well he would get in, and slap me. I couldnt go that far. He got a good combo in, and I stood back and said "ok lets do this buster". I was on the floor within seconds. Took me yrs to figure out he thought I called him a "bastard". Ha.

Worse was first summer back from college. My mom was nagging me about something. I said something like "I got it. Shut up". My dad heard me, and popped me out of no where. I fell, and he started kicking me in the mid section as he said "Never tell your mother to shut up again". A kick for every word. definitely deserved that one.
