God, others, then me.

Saw this ad campaign a couple of years back that had celebrities in the "I am second" billboards. Mom would say, "nope. Third."

Two things:

1. She taught me how to cook at an early age which is probably why I like to cook.

2. In her own words, before I went to college, she said, "Just know up front that if you ever do something stupid like drunk driving, we will not come bail you out of jail! You'll have to stay there, deal with it and figure it out on your own." I knew she was serious, so I followed her advice and never got arrested.

Save for a rainy day. I think she taught me that because she wasn’t able to do it.

That apparently most of my exes were whores.

I know mom. That’s why I dated them.

To be a hard arse… my mom was a tough woman, couldn’t just get a handout compliment. You really had to do something great to stand out.

Taught me a lot about how the world works..

More importantly though she taught me how to pray.

Thanks mom.

When I got the drinking and driving speech as a teenager she always told me "I will come get you, if you need a ride after drinking, from anywhere you call me from...except the police station. You are on your own from there."
