We normally go to downtown Baton Rouge, but looking for a different place this year. Any suggestions for a place I can take a 4 year old?

Downtown BR is pretty nice fwiw.

Won't catch me near the levee. Too much traffic, too many people, not enough parking, and the possibility of getting shot.

try the port allen side. it's not as nice as the baton rouge side but it's less crowded, and feels safer also, at least it did, but its been years since I have gone.

My favorite place is to sit on the US Capitol steps and watch them behind the Washington monument.

Neighbors put on a better display than the city. It was awesome, some of these people must have spent over 10k on their personal fireworks. I could see both the city and private displays from my deck.
