Best high school tradition

Today is the last day of school for the seniors at my alma mater East Ascension High School. These seniors get to participate in the best high school tradition in the country. They'll go to first period and once its done, go to the front gate of the school, start acting like a bunch of hungry bulldogs in a cage before the principals open the gates, then all run across the street and jump into a pond. Everything about it is just amazing. Running out the gate at full speed, trying to slow down not too slow but just enough to not trip on the big dip and get trampled, to the jump its self, and the getting out the way so you don't drown from the high waves and continuous people jumping in. Yes, the water is nasty but you don't even care while your adrenaline is pumping hard.

The EA pond jump is pretty great. Frick the haters...
Senior prank day was usually pretty good at Redemptorist as well. One year I think they covered the entire flag pole with old tires. Teacher friends share stories about that stuff.

It'll happen eventually...book it. All it takes is the parents of one kid who got jumped on top of and injured.
"We've been doing this for 20+ years" won't hold up well as a defense in court.
