I know c.c. Chimney sweep does it. I used them to clean my dryer vent (it's a vent to roof) and they gave me a brochure on all the services they do and that was one of them.

I'm looking to do the same thing. Haven't researched hard yet but I think they make solar fans that kick on when the temperature reaches a certain degrees. Attic vents just don't cut it, something needs to move the hot air out.

I think that any roofing company will do that...basically just cutting a hole, tacking the vent down, and sealing up around it...

Attic fans help a little but stapling radiant barrier to your rafters will lower the attic temp by about 20 degrees or more. I am having to re-wire an old duplex I bought last year. I can't put insulation down on the old cloth insulated wire. I installed radiant barrier in June and have been working up there when the outside temp is 100. It is not bad at all in the attic.

is this a joke about the recent commercials for a company that seemingly only installs those spinning attic vents? i thought that was a strangely specific business model, too.

I thought the same thing. This commercial is weird, I don't see how the guy does enough business installing attic vent fans to pay for a tv spot

Are you saying you actually want to cut holes in your roof?

not true at all. plus at those high temps, those motors go out rather frequently.

why yes. Im guessing you didnt know your roof has multiple holes in it for your bathroom vent, etc.

I disagree with you on the solar vents, got a durabuild 20 watt thermostat controlled solar roof vent installed in the spring because our soffit vents were not cutting it for ventilating our attic and it made a huge difference for our house.

My electric bill is down, my ac doesn't run as much, and the attic is noticeable cooler when I have to up there.

motor has 5 year warranty, panel has 20 year warranty

why are you talking about cloth wire...... im not looking for a cloth wire install.

Help me on attic vents. 500 a piece seems way out of price for 40 or 50 dollars worth of parts.
