A typical pawn shop purchase is as follows: -We well a blower for $159 -Blower gets used a year -Blower is stolen or pawned -Pawn shop sells it for $150+ -Customer brings it in and wants it repaired/tuned up -Cost of repairs + cost of purchase > the next model up blower
Every. Single. Time. Don't forget about them getting mad at you though

Looks like a good little saw for light stuff. Not much info out there on it but it looks like the Hitachi version is $165 on Amazon.

I don't trust mine of my brother. At least with my dad I know he's got the money to pay for it though...

And it's snowing here....

I have the husqvarna and I really like it. Plenty of power, easy to clean and starts easily. Have run a lot of Stihls. Like those too. Air intake design is excellent on a Stihl.

RedMax is far from a lower tier company! Before Husqvarna purchased them they made the BEST 2 cycle equipment in the world, chainsaws included! Yeah they didn't advertise like Stihl, Husqvarna and Echo, but they built better equipment than all three. Then Husqvarna bought them out to get their engines and they will slowly kill the company like they do every other brand they buy.... just killed Dixon ZTR's.

Today RedMax no longer makes chainsaws... What's left out there is dealer/distributor stock, most, but not all, models are just 'red' Huskys!

Had the Japanese engineers who ran RedMax got with a great marketing people to run the company they could have killed all the others. But they saw no benefit in advertising and had no interest in the homeowner customer!! They wanted to make the worlds best equipment, they wanted to dominate the commercial market!

Now about Shindaiwa, they lost focus when Echo bought them due to Echos focus to improve their own brand/engines. But they are making some great strides in new engine technologies and Shindaiwa is re-expanding their lineup. They no longer make chainsaws. But they're new stuff is really improved and will probably regain a top position with the commercial landscaper soon.

I've had a $100 Poulan for 14 years. I've had to replace the primer button and a few chains. And considering I only use it maybe twice a year, I think it has been great.

Use a good stihl once and you'll never touch anything else.

For one thing, stihl makes a two-piece (not sure what it's called) that acts like a shock absorber and doesn't cramp your fingers like a Poulan. I know cause years ago that's what I had.

To put it lightly, yes.

They have a long way to go. They made the biggest fall I've ever seen. They went from top class to absolute shite with the quickness.

Stihl. I will buy any of their products before even thinking about buying another brand. If they made a truck out of cardboard, I'd probably buy it

Husqvarna...all day, every day! I have a Stihl weedeater and blower, but my father-in-law's Stihl chainsaw cannot match the power, reliability, or functionality of my Husqvarna. I've heard that Jonsered is even better, but I don't know that from personal experience.

Being an owner of both this is so wrong.
Stihl is the most reliable saw I have ever owned. I have an Husqvarna now that doesn't start half the time. Always gives me trouble. I believe Poland bought Husqvarna and they are making them crappy now. Genral rule if you can buy it at home depot or lowes don't buy it. As far as chainsaws go.
