Can someone tell me the ins and outs of being a real estate agent? If you hustle, what kind of scratch can you pull down? Time commitment?

Stout seems to know a lot about it and also seems to be a big fat loser so wouldn't recccomend that field

I googled the chick's name who is selling the house down the street from me and she was featured on TheDirty not once, butt twice. 
I knew something was off with her when I dropped into her open house. She couldn't answer a single question about the place without looking at the fact sheet and had "I love dick" eyes.
Seriously, she was working at a smoothie store down in Scottsdale 2 years ago and is now standing in open houses for high-end homes.
I know there are some good realtors out there, butt the lion's share have failed at everything else before stumbling into that profession.
I knew something was off with her when I dropped into her open house. She couldn't answer a single question about the place without looking at the fact sheet and had "I love dick" eyes. A million is easy and not as impressive as it once was in the 80's when an average house was $50K. That's when the multi-million club meant something. Also, if you are only clearing $15K on a million in volume after your broker takes his cut you need to find a different broker with a better commission split.
