Partially I guess. But it's more that once you've patched into a club you've basically become family to the members of that club. You're fellow patch holders are your brothers, literally. That's not easy to just walk away from, much less walk away and join another club. It goes on in riding clubs (RC's) but is really rare for it to happen in a MC, and all but unheard of among the three piece patch MCs.

I can't wait to use this information one day and surprise the shite out of people around me with my knowledge of this.

But what if your MC is regional and you have to move?

Well you actually hit on the one instance I can remember of a guy going from one MC to another. He moved and his club had no presence in the state but there was a club there that his old club was allied with. They allowed him to retire in good standing from his old club and join the other club.

retire in good standing
What difference would that make, except in terms of pride? Or is that the only thing?

This, just had a former student whose mom kept her thumb on her. She didn't make it a semester in college before she was back home and pregnant.

i am really scared this is going to happen to one of my nieces.

One is 16, almost 17, she has to ASK to turn on the tv or the radio. Her parents are crazy strict, she is going to go crazy in college I can tell.

if not her, the younger one. she already gets in a good bit of trouble.

Well the biggest difference is that a member who has "retired in good standing" is that they leave behind most the obligations they had to the club but retain certain privileges like having access to the club house or being invited to take part in what club functions they can. Usually for a member to qualify to be retired in good standing they will have to have been a member for a set period of time, a minimum 10 years is the norm and be in good standing with the club at the time of retirement.

Usually things like getting very behind on dues, not meeting your obligations for putting in your work for the club, or missing mandatory club functions. It could also be things like violating club by-laws.

I cried like a baby when my little girl got outa truck first day of pre-k.

She never looked back and wasn't scared at all.

Mine are young so the highs and lows have just started.

It's different for each club but the norm is that if someone retires in good standing, they keep all their tattoos. Along with this it's pretty standard to require someone be a member of a MC for a set amount of time before they can get any club related tattoos.

Now if someone leaves a club not in good standing and they do have club related tattoos, those are removed. This can mean anything from having them covered up all the way to physical removal by cutting, burning, or sanding them off. It all depends on the club and the circumstances.

It's different for every club. It could be anything from helping upkeep around the clubhouse to helping put on club events like parties, rallies, fund raisers, etc.

A patch over is basically where a big club gobbles up a smaller club. The reasons for this can be due to a wide variety of things ranging from a friendly merger to a hostile takeover.

What would happen if you got kicked out of your club, for instance? Like, would you be able to just flaunt your tats anyway, or would they come after you?

How do the 1% clubs tell who is or isn't a fellow 1%er? Like if you and your MC were to ride through a town with a 1% club is there a protocol on letting them know that you don't want any trouble?

In that instance, they'd probably come after you and the methods they use in the removal of your tattoos would not be something you'd want to happen to you.

My daughter was 17 before we let her drive on her own. The first time she did, I followed her.

See, that makes it sound like your club has at least a little criminal element to it.
