A few minutes ago, I had a flamboyant black guy come up to me as I was leaving Walmart & ask for $35. He gave me a sob story about his car being impounded. Even went as far to say he would give me a free pair of shoes because he's a manager at Champs. After I said no, I watched him get in the passenger seat of a 90's Corvette & drive off.
It's weird to me because 9 years ago while leaving BRCC, I had someone tell me the same exact story. Minus the Champs part. I'm wondering if anyone else has heard this excuse around the Baton Rouge area?

Their stories have gotten more and more elaborate. I’ve had a couple ppl at college drive Albertsons/Walmart/postoffice give me crazy thought up bullshite. Car broke down, needs tire repaired, only need 9.70$ blah blah blah “I’m a teacher at southern and a minister” “I’m starting a new job tomorrow” “I just got discharged from our lady of the lake” the list goes on and on.

Jokes on you for listening. I stop them before the story starts.

I never listen to their bullshite. I tell them I don't have any money to spare when someone tries to approach me.

I stop them before they start. Then when they get pissy with me I shoot back with: “Hey, I am just maximizing your hourly income by saving you the time of giving me your bullshite story because I am not giving you a penny anyway but if you want to waste your time then go ahead.” It is hilarious to watch them roll that around in their head for a minute. Guy last week actually mumbled Thanks I Guess before walking off.

There’s a guy that was bouncing around all of the Home Depots and Lowes in the area after the flood. He had a damn good story about leaving his wallet at the hotel in New Orleans and was trying to get to the airport blah blah and drove an older model Lexus. He hit me up twice about 6 weeks apart. Second time I called him out and he gave me a stupid grin. Never gave him anything

I tell all of them that they told me the same story two weeks ago. All of them know that was possible and slink off. Scammers every one of them.

Yep, I have been told that exact story about car being impounded multiple times. I don't ever give anyone begging for money shite. I just don't believe anyone asking for money that they will do the right thing with it nowadays. This includes kids with buckets begging for money for some bullshite basketball or cheerleader trip!

Sorry if that makes me a bad person.

Had one guy last week try to get $5 from me and explained he had just been released from prison serving 18 mos for an expired DL.

I'm no lawyer, but I'm fairly certain that a simple expired DL isn't going to get you 18 mos, by itself. This guy was as dirty as I have ever seen anyone. "Literally" looked like he had been rolling around in a dirt pile.

St. George will have roving flame trooper squads going around burning down their shitty little camps.

We’ll call them Trogdors.

My wife and I were moving our son in LSU a couple years ago. My son and I were upstairs and when we came down we seen her give a young guy some money, It was the " pop a lock story" scam guy that was on the news. She gave him $40 because she believed his story. Me and my son walked up on him a year later when he was trying to scam another lady and we called him out on it. He took off , my son wanted to beat that arse

I can't remember the last time I read one of their signs while waiting at a red light. I mean, is it possible that a single one is legit? I'd say definitely not.

I had some idiot that I actually used to know (he either didn’t remember me or thought I wouldn’t remember him) approach me with a sob story the other night. His story had all of the usual elements, i.e., the girlfriend all eaten up with cancer that he needed to get to, needing gas money to get to Jackson, Miss. (they all incorporate Jackson, Miss. into the story for some reason...it’s a dead giveaway).

I told the guy I didn’t have any cash, just a card. Then he asked me for a ride - I told him I don’t do that. He got pissed and stalked off...frick him.
