I'm looking to take the family on a beach vacation (Carribean, Mexico, etc).

I'm looking for a resort that has stuff kids would find entertaining (waterslides, lazy river, etc.)

All inclusive would be great, but not necessarily a must.

Any recommendations would be great.

Why not destin for your criteria? Cheaper and easier to get to.

Beaches resorts are the Sandals for families. Turks and Caicos has one which is probably the best beach in the Caribbean. We stayed near one in Negril and walked over one day to see if we thought the kids would enjoy down the road. It looked big and had plenty for kids to do. Plenty of activities. All inclusive is great for a family because it takes the hassle of tipping and paying for everything while you're there away.

You can go to a local travel agent and give them your criteria and let them do the homework for you for free. Then when you decide on a place, you can try to beat their price online or have them beat yours. I've done that for a few international trips.

I've been looking at Atlantis. If it were an all inclusive, it would be a no brainer.

Destin is out bc we go there frequently. I'd prefer more of a resort with activities and stuff to do on site.

I haven't thought about a cruise.

I've been to the Sandals in Naasau and loved it (yeah I know, it's trashy). We went over to the Atlantis and it looked awesome.

Im going to have to check out Turks and Caicos.

Honestly I am doing a similar search right now. Though about Costa Rica as well for a family getaway.

Didn't you win a free international trip on Pig in a Poke? You're being disingenuous with the pricing recommendations.

Kids are 6 and.....1. Yeah I know 1 will make it hard to do anything.

I've been to Costa Rica and while many suggest it, I do not. Granted I was there a month, but I wasn't a fan.

What about a babysitter? A girl I dated while in high school was hired to babysit. Basically she tagged along to watch the baby a few hours a day and at night so the parents could go have fun. She basically got a vacation and a few bucks for spending money. She felt bad for "getting paid" at the end (a couple hundred) and tried to give the money back. The dad said "I am going to give you more, having you there was priceless"

I would fricking love this. I'd have to find one though.

I was pretty much planning on doing all the kids water activities and fun stuff with my 6 year old and make my wife stay with the baby.

*So I guess technically my wife would love that idea.
