Have a 65 inch TCL roku which is roughly 3 years old and need a second TV. Older gen is like 600 but there are new 75 inch to 85 inch for $1000 and tempting. Is it too much TV?

Never too much tv

But you do have to pay attention to quality when you get in to the bigger cheap tvs

I am a big Vizio fan. Best balance of price to quality IMO.

Good question, I mis mounted my last one too high so sit roughly 6 feet away but feels longer due to height. Thinking of moving the 65 to bedroom which then would be about the same. The living room will probably be 7-8 ft

I actually only buy TCLs now. I had a 55 inch outside during hurricane Laura and it was covered in insulation and shite... turned right on and is still trucking on the back patio

Damn, really, oh ok, so 12 ft away, 65in might be too small.....my butler is thinking about upgrading his man cave, going from a 55in that's an old technology, LCD, 14 years old, I told him I didn't know about the distance thing with the newer TV's so i'd ask for best viewing 12 ft away.
So he's asking for best size viewing 12 feet away..?

I love my LG’s but I wouldn’t buy them again. LG’s do not support the ESPN+ app.

Sound and picture are great though.

If you’re going to “splurge” because of sound then splurge on.. sound.

High end TV’s still have garbage speakers. They might offer some sort of built in pseudo-spatial audio (e.g. pseudo-Atmos) but it’s lipstick on a pig.

Even a cheap soundbar will sound a lot better, if you can’t do a real home theater system with dedicated center channel for whatever reason.

We just got a Samsung CU8000 85 inch. It’s the lower end version, but we love it. We had a 13 year old 60 inch LCD.
