My wife would catch a bad case of red arse if I did that.
I staged ours one night after she went to bed in a car accident....maybe used some ketchup to represent blood. She was pissed for a week.
Funny as hell though....did have a tough time explaining to my 4 yr old how the SOB got in a wreck in the play room in the Peppa Pig car. It was worth it though.

How long has "Elf on the Shelf" been a thing? I swear I had never heard of it until maybe two years ago, but people talk about it like it's been around for decades.

My Mawmaw use to put those elves on her Christmas trees back in the 60's and 70's, they've been around for years... Someone decided to write a story about the "Elf on the Shelf" back in the 90's and is making a killing selling the elf as a kit with the book..

I cleaned out a storage room for someone and got several of them wearing green instead of red....They are pretty old and worth about 3 grand each if I can convince someone to give me that much for them...

Yep.. It's one of those "why didn't I think of that" products...
The ones my grandmother had on on her trees had red, green and some with gold lame suits.. Some had actual hair on their heads... I wish I saved those damn things..
