re: Autozone employee thwarts robbery... gets fired for his trouble.

If he was my employee, he'd probably be fired also.. I have no desire for any of my employees to do anything but comply during a robbery. Give them the money or any merchandise and let them leave.

So he lost his job, he will get another, bottom line is he stopped the threat and no one got shot, that thug may have planned to shoot everyone because he knew AZ did not allow guns, but when some one stuck one in his face, the thugs plans were changed.Congrats to the AZ employee for having the balls to do the right thing.

Sometimes it'll work out better in hindsight but in foresight very rarely does "quick, get my gun" increase safety in that store. Especially with there being no downside to cooperating in 99 out of 100 cases.

Never shopping at AutoZone again. Unbelievable. What a crock of shite.

ETA I prefer Napa anyway

Yea, because that Autozone job is clearly worth fighting in court for.

Honestly nobody was shot or hurt, robbery was thwarted and the guy will get another job elsewhere.

It's not the best action to do from a legal standpoint but he did the right thing as a man IMO.
