Can't get away with this. If he is a licensed driver living in the home he has to be listed on the policy. If he gets in an accident, shite will hit the fan.

Maybe get him a Fiesta ST instead of the Mustang? All the reviews say it's a really fun car and I assume the insurance rates would be lower.

I just bought my son a truck. He wanted to put it in his name. Allstate said that if the vehicle is in his name and he is the primary driver it would cost $320/month. So I put my name on the title, listed him as the secondary driver and I pay $70/month.

There's a little known loophole in La law which allows you to put your kids under a umbrella policy if they have an Intermediate license - essentially, your insurance doesn't go up at all until they reach the age of 19. Most insurance companies either don't know about it or just don't want to advocate it or acknowledge it. If you call the major insurance companies they'll say this law doesn't exist; call a local investment company that sales insurance too - they'll be able to help you get your son insurance on that Mustang.

Had two teenagers earlier in life. When it comes to auto insurance - prepare your anus - even moreso for a boy.

Just bought my daughter an Xterra 2wd. $163/month to insure.

Not too bad but thats more than me and my wife pay on both our cars combined.

Will be calling around just to see if money can be saved.
