I do think we'd be better off if no one had guns but just think about the practicality of the government coming to everyone's house and confiscating guns. The right wingers would lose their shite and it would just further divide our country. That shite might fly in Australia but it would probably cause another civil war here

Violent crime would drop significantly if every single gun in the US was confiscated. However, not only is this impractical, it is nearly impossible. Criminals, by nature, don't follow the law. If you make guns illegal they will find a way to get them just as they find a way to get drugs. It doesn't take much mental capacity to see this.

Nope. If everyone in Central Park were armed (or even a reasonable percentage) the people next to you would take care of matters.
If you were the *only* armed person within earshot then you might have a point.

This is not what happened to Australia and the UK when guns were restricted. Violent crime overall went up...
