recommend one. I'm a big James Lee Burke fan but have all of his already. My wife has put me onto Greg Iles and he's OK. Others?

do you have an Audible account?

If you like Burke, then you'd probably like Michael Connelly's stuff

I do like Patterson some, but Burke and the narration by Will Patton have me spoiled. Have read some Connelly, but never listened. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

I am. Use both Audible and Scribd. Got Scribd on deep discount, and while it is a broken mess compared to Audible, it's a solid back up.

I mostly like junk for the car because it keeps me entertained. So a lot of Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, and Daniel Silva. My audible library includes some of that, Unbroken and several other WWII books, Matterhorn, some Cormac McCarthy, etc.

It depends with me. Books with a bunch of dialogue translate pretty poorly to an audiobook imo. I try to avoid humorous books as well because a lot of the time it just comes off as cheesy.

I'm a fan of Cussler, Patterson, and a few others that translate pretty well to audio.

I've never tried any books that aren't centered around a story though. That's something I'd like to try.

Its the only way I can get through a book these days. I recommend the following:

World War Z - Multiple Readers
The First Law Series - Joe Abercrombie read by Steven Pacey
The Rook - Dan O'Malley - read by Susan Duerdan
Ready Player One - Ernest Cline - read by Will Wheaton (yep)
14 - Peter Cline - read by Ray Porter

ETA: The Dresden Files - Jim Butcher - read by James Marsters (aka Spike from Buffy)

No Country for Old Men is excellent on audio. More detail than the movie, at least in regards to the ending.

The Master and Commander Series by Patrick O'Brian is great. 20 books and I listened to each several times.

Without a doubt, A Confederacy of Dunces is quite possibly the best audiobook I have ever listened to.

If you are into music at all or specifically The Rolling Stones, check out "Life" which is the Keith Richards autobio. It goes into a lot of their history and his spiral into drug use but it also touches some on his approach to writing songs and music theory so if you don't really "get that", it can drag a little.

Also, if you have a library card, check out the Overdrive app. You can check out audiobooks for free. I love it but the selection can be limited based on your local library.

"Kill Me If You Can" was really good... it was a stand-alone from his sequence books... it was really good and it'll introduce you to his style.
