How much daily revenue can that school possibly be making where $500 isn't noticed... This proves that government accounting sucks.

It's not government accounting, it's individuals or groups who don't follow Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) for a variety of reasons.

Things may be as bad as Grambling, where there is NO accounting done and people just spend money with no records of to whom or why, or it may be a case of no strong controls from the school over the cash from the cafeteria.

I have a feeling that someone else at the school was probably stealing as well and using the accounting, or lack thereof, to cover it up. This person just happened to be caught on film.

That shite seems unbelievable. How much would that cart have to profit a day to be able to steal $500 daily and it go unnoticed for 15 years?

If you can claim that all the goods sold were handled by the other 4 lines, you can take anything sold from that cart and stick the money straight in your pocket like she did.

Till comes up short? Damn those evil Rethuglicans for not subsidizing more kids' lunches!

To write off the total cost of the square footage of a home office it has to be truly independent from the dwelling and only used as an office. They ask about signage, any kitchenettes/office-only bathrooms, etc.

After seeing the pictures of her house, unless her husband is a dentist I'd say she stole at least a million.

Google search showed enrollment at 1500 students. If a third of that spent a couple of bucks a day I suppose $500 could be easily concealed.

I don't think so... You would be suprised how many people that don't do anything that work at schools... most get administrative positions based off of who you know and chill all day and act like they doing stuff...

The concession stand at my high school had money stolen like this. The QBs grandmother was taking money every single game.

The didn't want to make his family look bad so they just basically let it go. Some people had chipped in to repay it took keep his name clean.

I thought it was BS

The a la carte stand would have to make ~$1000/day for $500 to go unnoticed... $180k seems outrageously high for one of those stands to make in a school year.

Is it really that easy to conceal missing half a day's profits?

I'm not sure if this is what was going on but if they are selling items bought by the school for cash...and they sell $500 worth of stuff it's 100% profit. It must have been a big school.
