Nowhere, because any semi decently built male can't possibly do it because it's too damn tight on your arms.

We used to be able to roll sleeves in BDU's but most local commands still prohibited it. I'm sure this will go the same way.

I've seen some ripped dudes with rolled BDU sleeves. Never tried to roll the ACU's though.

In Afghanistan we wore multicam and never once thought about rolling up my sleeves.

Cut maybe, not that big though. You can see exactly why in the picture that was linked, just too tight on your bi's tri's and the general is a good representation of the guys that can wear it

Nah, I had a drill sergeant that looked like a pro wrestler. He still managed to roll his sleeves, granted, it looked painful.

Meh. Being in continuous combat since 2001, it has just "culturally" gone away in today's Army. With the OD and BDU (yeah, I came in when we wore OD) the sleeve was cut slightly differently so you could roll it. They can (eventually) do the same to the ACU/OCP. I would rather just keep them down. I by no means have big arms (average at best) and I had difficulty with the rolled sleeve pinching my upper arm (I used homemade sleeve blocks as well to ensure they were uniform in appearance and stayed rolled up).

No offense, but what do you guys have against rolled sleeves? In my experience, the troops busting their arse down on line loved it. Just always seemed like a dumb thing to frick with Joe about and the only justification I ever got was " sunburn".

Eh, don't those guys usually just take off their blouses?

That's the stupidest article I've ever read.

There is no justification. I am lazy

Seriously, I came from a time in the Army when we had our sleeves rolled up in the field during field training exercises (1981). As you are aware, the uniform is meant to be adaptable. Day to day garrison, field, etc. Just come up with a uniform way to do it and execute.

But, like the article says, because of the pen holders and upper arm pockets we are going to have to roll them like the Marines.

I am actually ambivalent about rolled up sleeves.

It will lead to a re-design of the uniforms which will lead to me having to buy more crap. The way the sleeves are now makes it impossible to roll without covering patches. It's a stupid idea. Rolling sleeves never made it cooler. It made the uniform more restrictive. The people who want to roll sleeves are too young to ever have rolled sleeves.

Well the way they are doing it looks like shite. We used to do BDU sleeves while leaving the outside out, not with the inside out like the pictures in the article.

Negative.

Common sense should tell you every human being would rather wear a short sleeve shirt instead of a long sleeve shirt in the summer.

My first standing order as commander:

"We are sleeves down unless otherwise directed. Standard headgear will be patrol cap with non-subdued rank, but in case we have a battalion formation, beret must be on soldier's person. Any questions?"

And I wasn't doing it to be popular, although that was a wildly popular policy.

This is how it was done during my time as well. It was tight on the arm but at least it looked neat.

Did you see those spaghetti arms on that Air Force chick?
