He'll do some halfway house thing and with his carpentry skills do some Good Samaritan type community service, maybe even some weekend jail type stuff, but he won't be locked down incarcerated, which would be stupid at this point.

Good for this guy tho.

I have a friend who got a DWI and was well into the process when the next step was for them to contact him and tell him when his court date was.

They never contacted him. That was at least over 5 years ago. He lives in another state now.

You're still comparing a toll booth ticket to 13 years in pound me in the arse prison. That's such a stupid comparison that it really doesn't merit anymore discussion from either of us.

Check the court website. He might have a bench warrant.

I agree in normal circumstances, but this guy has been a model citizen for the last 13 years. Wife, kid, business. Give him a shite ton of community service and let him go.

You honestly don't know if he has been a model citizen for 14 years or not. Lots of people learn how not to get caught, don't know if this is the case or not. Most people on trial for brutal murders can have a witness testify that they are the nicest, most gentle person they have met.

As for the community service, I could get on board with that. It would honestly probably be the best solution to a bizarre situation.

As for people saying that you shouldn't punish 3 people for Missouri's frick up, don't forget that he fricked up too. You are acting like it was a wrongful sentence and they screwed up by not bringing him in.

Technically, they are giving him his instructions now. They told him to hold tight and await instructions, now he has them and he is protesting them.

I'm leaning this way, if prison is rehab he doesnt need it, if prison is punishment then due to the circumstances change the punishment to CS and call it a day.

They just gave him some extra time to get his affairs in order.
