Got the dog when the kids were young drove 4 hrs to get it of course one of those "we want a dog we will feed it and take care of it" deals well me and the wife end up doing everything. I don't mind him too much like I tell my wife it's a love-hate relationship.

Try having a pest control company spray your lawn and flower beds with a pesticide. This will eliminate the grubs etc that amadillos eat. If that is not something you want to do start getting up at night with a head light with a .22 loaded with .22 long rifle hollow points and shoot them.

Rusty is right. Treat with an insecticide to remove their food source. You can also purchase Talstar granular that you can apply yourself. Talstar also kills ants and is a termiticide. Good luck.
