With everything that's going on with Syria and NK, and how cold the Obama/Trump administration and Putin dictatorship were/are towards each other, I say yes.

What says the OT?

I was like 4 when the cold war ended, but I'm pretty sure it was much worse when school children were doing drills to prepare for a nuclear holocaust.

I think Trump and Putin are just having some fun messing with each other. Kind of like the presidents of the top two frats doing the same at the expense of the rest of the inferior frats and the GDI's.

Obviously, I'm not trying to compare what went on from 1945-80's. I'm just asking if we have now gotten ourselves into a different era of it.

Every waking second was a threat to world peace during the Cold War. Both sides were sure that the other would launch a surprise nuclear attack and both were ready to retaliate at a moment's notice. Just think about the Cuban Missile Crisis and how close nuclear war was.

What's going on nowadays is patty cake compared to that. This is fairly subdued stuff in terms of warfare.

this may not be that, but this ain't good. US/Russian relations are at a real low point right now.

I'm so tired of this shite.

The Cold War never ended, and continues to this day. The tensions are more like a dimmer switch that's turned way down, rather than a light switch that's either on or off.

Imo

Just because it involves the U.S. and Russia having geopolitical tensions doesn't make it comparable to the Cold War. Call me when the Communists takeover Russia and start clamoring for the global workers revolution and then we can start talking about a new era of the Cold War. Until then it's just contemporary geopolitics.

I always found those old black and white films to be laughably ridiculous. Your first period desk chair is going to protect you from the white heat comparable to the surface of the sun.
