What? Mated to the BMW 4 cylinder? No way on earth GM makes the one on our inline 6, although they say it's lifetime fluid as well. bullshite though, will change at 100k.

1. Replace rear brake pads (2.5 mm left, 0.5 mm from sensor) = $360
The premium pads at AutoZone are $69 and they take about 10 minutes wheel to change.

2. Replace brake fluid (dirty) = $170
It's a closed system. Even if it were dirty, you could drain/pump it and replace it for $10. And if you want to go all out, you can buy a bleeder kit on eBay for $20 (free shipping).

Check your owner's manual for the recommended servicing on that. It may be close to time. But, seems like I saw where these Speedy Lube joints do it for around $65.

You really should name this dealer so no one else gets ripped by them.

are they pads and rotors on the rear? or shoes and drums? If shoes/drums, have someone do it; all those springs are a pain in the arse. If pads, they are very easy, but at least buy the Toyota pads (prob under $100) as the quality is much better than auto zone and the other cheapy places. You could even remove your rotors and bring it to a machine shop or local mechanic and they'll turn em for ya for prob about $20 cash.
Brake fluid does prob need to be changed and these dealerships have a machine that sucks it all out and then cycles a cleaner through and then adds the new fluid. You could bleed it out yourself and get most of it if you wanted too. Kinda messy. Worst case scenario, the brake fluid completely breaks down (but that's prob 200k in or so)
Trans Fluid I don't think is sealed on the '07 RAV4 but it does at least take Type IV Fluid, so the fluid itself is a little bit more expensive. pop your hood with the car running and find the dipstick (black top) and take a look at the fluid yourself and make sure it isn't black or has metal flakes all in it. at 60k it shouldn't and you prob would be wise to get that changed. You could price it at a local shop, but the reason it's $280 at the dealer is cuz they're using 14qts of fluid and the fluid isn't cheap. hope this helps and good luck

If in Baton Rouge (or close), go see Jason at K&M Automotive on Siegen Lane (near Perkins Road) or Tinh at Highland Care Car Center (near Airline Highway).

Both are very honest, reasonable and fair.
