Here is a list of convertibles that fit golf clubs with the top down. It's a little dated, but could give some ideas.

ETA: And now I see it was already posted

Not sure about the Convertible, but my Infiniti G37 Coupe (now Q60) actually had a diagram on the trunk that explained how to fit two sets.

I did it a few times, but usually resorted to removing the woods and putting them in the back seat.

I'm sure the BMW 6 and Mercedes E drop tops would work.

I love how BMWs come with diagrams in the trunk that tell you how to store golf clubs.

I like the aftermarket replacement placards too.

Toyota had a Solara convertible that was pretty big. Not sure if they still make them.

Last model was 2008. A friend has one and it's pretty nice. And, it does fit at least 2 sets of clubs -- I know from first hand experience.

There has been some talk of Toyota bringing back the Celica with a convertible model.

the Lebaron was so pimp back in the day. my cousin had a red one, we went over the railroad tracks one day really fast and the car basically fell apart.

Coater - I concur - with the OP's criteria, the 6-series would be the first place I look.

I'm also thinking a lightly used 911 convertible might get him there - the jump seats are about right for a set of clubs, top down, anyway.

The title says "trunk", but the OP says "in the back" - I'm just trying to help.

Heck, 2 bags might fit in 911 trunk, without the drivers.
