I always get a kick out of state employees' mentality.

Back in my day we used to walk to school 5 miles through 3 feet of floodwater with no shoes...

The closure notices should be rolling out soon. St. Helena parish and Central Private School have closed so far.

You know, I used to think I knew what flooding was till I started working in NOLA.
Those bastards will drive a Lexus through a foot of water and chock their computers up with 4x4's so that they can keep working when an inch or two of water gets in the building from an evening thunderstorm.
So, suck it up BR vaginal state workers.

Why didn't you have any shoes? Did you grow up in Alabama?

Per Jay Dardenne: All State offices "in affected areas" are closed today.

I'm not sure why they didn't go ahead and announce closures last night so everyone could prepare. I don't believe there was any doubt we were getting this rain.

Do you really expect Louisiana's government to be proactive?

Where did you get that info? I have no email from anyone on closures and both hotlines are busy.

I am here. Problem is after I arrived, because so many schools closed, the office decided to close in turn. That's why schools should have announced last night.
