Married going on 34 years. I say most divorces are due to starting of money problems then that leads to infidelity due to pressure.

Mine was. I sick of the SOB too especially when I found out venereal warts was a sexually transmitted disease. That's right, no other way I could have gotten them.

Let's face reality, people stayed together into their retirement out of necessity. It's difficult to have a relationship with anyone for fifty, sixty years. People get bored, tired of the mundane bullshite. Life becomes a job to some and people feel dead, numb.
I don't know how old you are, but if you think like this, then no sense in you ever hooking up to get married.
Marriage is a complete work in progress from day one till one dies. You SO is not only your lover, but also your best friend forever.

I can't say I saw that one coming. IWSHI, but man that was unexpected.

No. It is from getting caught.

Marriage is not some kind of idea. It is fluid, and will ever-evolve.

I would agree, though it is simply impractical for the vast majority of society.
Parts of the Midwest are experiencing an inversion of sorts. Men displaced from the labor force, working part time, seasonally, what have you, becoming the domestic caretakers.
It's actually a big problem for many caught in the crosshairs, a blow to the ego, a deep departure from the Marlboro man era American Male.

That's just not reality with the modern American woman. It just isn't.

Many of the causes of infidelity are also the causes of divorce. They are highly corrlelated but one may not cause the other.
