on the first try stigmatized within their profession or by the public in your mind?

If you don't pass you become a hermit that works in fast food

People that dont pass the boards arent doctors

Lawyers can't really practice law without passing the bar. Doctors can still practice without board certification. Not all sub-specialties have board certification.

I've known a few in DC who spent close to 200k on law school and failed the bar the first time. It took everything I had not to break down laughing

That is not true at all.

I mean once each passes the bar do you think they are viewed as lesser than their peers?

Some even run for president.

No one cares and no one asks. They have a lot more crap on their minds besides how often it took someone to pass a test.

they can be nurses and paralegals

I am talking about docs as well. There are plenty of staff surgeons that haven't passed their boards.

You are confusing board certification with licensing.

And I guess what boards, as I said.
Step one?
Residentcy?
10 yearly whatever it is called?

Nope. They just move to Florida and it's all good.
