Lawyers can't really practice law without passing the bar. Doctors can still practice without board certification. Not all sub-specialties have board certification.

I've known a few in DC who spent close to 200k on law school and failed the bar the first time. It took everything I had not to break down laughing

I mean once each passes the bar do you think they are viewed as lesser than their peers?

No one cares and no one asks. They have a lot more crap on their minds besides how often it took someone to pass a test.

I am talking about docs as well. There are plenty of staff surgeons that haven't passed their boards.

You are confusing board certification with licensing.
