They send out some strange folks to evaluate roofs.

Who would you fine people use in the Baton Rouge area?

Most of them seem to be predatory as frick. I have to imagine they're driving the cost of insurance through the roof.

Get it...roof.

I know I need a repair on about 300sq ft. They want to reroof the entire thing

And the people they send out look like vagrants

On the day the tornado hit last month we had 10 different roofers come by within 2-3 hours. my neighbors and I all chose the same guy who was a friend of a friend.

Ole Man with Alvin Ballard roofing is a good dude. He is not weird or a vagrant. However, you may want to keep Mrs. Broke inside when you engage him in conversation. He has a knack for using profanity.

After a hail storm a few years ago I tore into one that I found propping a ladder up against my garage about to "inspect my roof" to see if I had any damage from Jasper Contractors. I wish I would have caught him after he was up there, moved the ladder, and then called the cops.

Ding ding ding

I think it would have been funny as frick to leave him up there and get EBRSO to cite him for trespassing.

One thing that for certain, weird or not, you're not going to find a sober roofer.

Jasper Contractors.

I have nothing but praise for Jasper. After Katrina my insurance company sent out an adjuster from New Mexico who tried to authorize replacement of only three of the six faces of my roof. Jasper did an inspection and got the insurance company to replace the entire roof with architectural shingles that were better than the original. They also put in ridge vents to replace two non-working power vents. All in all, about $10,000 more than what the insurance company initially wanted to pay.

Samayoa roofing did me right. They were a few hundred bucks more than Alvin Ballard for an 75 square roof, the sales guy was professional and they finished my roof in 1 day. No drunks on the job either.

Yet everyone bitches when their homeowner's renewal jumps up 10% annually..... That would be why folks..

Roofing has evolved into this quasi insurance adjustor profession, it's crazy. When they get your insurance company to pay for an entire new roof instead of patching a spot, or roll through your neighborhood after a minor storm claiming everyone needs new roofs you STILL end up paying for it. Nothing in life is free kids....
