We are remodeling our house after the flood and have ideas of what we want to do. We need is a way to visualize it so I started looking up these types of programs. Does anyone have experience with a particular software or have an opinion on which ones are the best? TIA

Are you looking for just floor plans or actual 3D visualization?

Autodesk Revit, baw.
Seriously, talk to an LSU student, and they can get you a copy through TigerWare. It's a really cool program.

the most user friendly and affordable for this is LIVE INTERIOR. I use it for work on occasion and you can layout quick floor plans and then view them in a 3D model. You can easily drop import furniture, etc. from the Sketchup Warehouse
