Anyone remember the Gary Plauche and Jeffrey Doucet incident from '84?

Gary Plauce,Jeff Doucet It was on something called the ID network last night. That was the Spring of my SR year at LSU and I'm surprised I don't remember this. 
Anyway it was rather riveting -- and disturbing. I know many of you probably weren't born then but was curious if you were familiar in general or knew any of the family.

I think that was Colonel Mike Barnett. He later ran for Sheriff and lost. He knew Gary, maybe past schoolmate or something. The big question has always been, did Gary get tipped off of the arrival by his buddies on the force, or did he overhear it at The Cotton Club, and that's how he knew when and where Doucet was arriving.

Last year I met one of the cops who was escorting Doucet at the aiport. We were doing some work at his mom's house in Livingston Parish.

That's what was crazy. Unless guys were behind the camera, there only appeared to be 2 guys with him. That was 1984. Years before Tim McVeigh and bulletproof smocks for high profile criminals.
