Anyone notice the lack of competition between schools?

Ive never seen a banner promoting one school over tbe other in test scores or education. Athletically sure but why not take intellectual pride in which high school you go to?

Don't know about a banner but Northwestern's student body to Ohio State during a football game-

That's alright, that's OK, cause you will be working for us someday

Overall rankings are typically based more on average test scores for incoming students and graduation rates. These are not really indicative metrics on overall preparedness or quality of education.

Aside from that most schools have strengths and weaknesses when looking at various departments.

Would be tacky and useless for Harvard to point out their superiority to other universities. Everybody knows why Vandy is in the SEC. They don't have to point it out.

It's mostly about the PARENTS, moron !
That's why the vast majority of inner city schools of the "democratic" persuasion are abysmal !!!

Rice MOB did a halftime show few year ago vs North Texas
which talked about the great music school which prepared graduates for a career in the food service industry

Is it time for the thread to be hijacked into debate about Catholic High yet?

The public schools always chanted "school for free" at us during baseball games.

Our student sections immediate response was always "work for me".

Of course, that is total bullshite but it had a good ring to it

Ever hear a school call themselves a Blue Ribbon school. That is bragging about the academics
