Anyone notice how Google and Facebook advertise based on credit card purchases?

Even if you DON'T search anything online before hand? I've noticed I'll discuss something IRL, buy said product, and then BOOM...related products show up as suggested products to purchase on these automated advertisement feeds.

The end is near.

Well I'd assume it's kind of illegal monitor credit card purchases without clear consent.

Did anyone actually read the OP? The purchases were made completely independent of computer searches.

I don't mind targeted marketing if it's ads for things I want to buy. My beef is that these ads are usually dumb and display things I searched for online. Just because I search for it doesn't mean I want to buy it.

Your wishes are irrelevant.

The more you see the object, the more likely you are to buy it.

There's a reason why advertisers spend money for ads.

It works.

Welcome to the machine!!!
