Anyone know about drones to purchase?

I need to buy one for a project and don't know anything about them as far as what kind, features etc...
I was told the one at Sams which was about $350 was a good one but they don't have them.
Not really sure what they cost anyway but let's say from 350 to 5,6 hundred?
What do I need to take good video, sound, range, etc... and where to buy?

We are all ok with a little light stalking, just be honest with us and we will help you out, don't need to lie to us under the guise of a project

This is one I was looking at. It's not super high end but also not too expensive. One thing I was looking at was flight time. Some of the cheaper models only have a flight time of like 5 minutes before you have to recharge the battery.

A guy at work has a DJI Phantom 3 and likes it pretty good. I've looked and found the average price ~ $490.00. I have seen it listed for $390.00, though I don't know how trustworthy those places are. Just Google for prices.

Most don't capture sound fyi. phantom products are the best

Great. Thanks. The Phantom linked is the one I was told and at one point Sams had them for I think $399.
I'll look around but seems that's the one to buy and under 500 is good with me.

I don't need your help douchebag. Others provided what was needed without a lame attempt at humor.

You'll want to color it flat black so she won't see lights reflecting off of it through the window.

The Pro Stalker III is in matte black with quiet engines. Comes with a microphone and night vision camera so you can capture all the action in hi def.
It isn't cheap and free online porn might be a better choice but the OP probably searched for his neighbor there already.

I tell people to buy a cheap toy grade first and learn to fly before buying an expensive quad. SYMA X5's are popular for this. It's bigger brother X8 has enough payload it can carry a GoPro. ~$120 for one with altitude hold and if you don't need GPS functions you could probably film everything you wanted with it and a GoPro or GoPro clone like the SJcam. Guess it would help to know what type of video you are trying to film. Various features would help making certain types of videos. Trying to film people riding bikes down a trail? Just want some landscape pictures? Trying to film people? You mention recording sound that isn't going to be very good from the drone. Drone makes quite a bit of noise so any sound recorded from it will be drowned out by the props and the wash.

Best buy usually keeps the phantoms in stock.

I'm looking at the Phantom-3 Standard.
I really like the Intelligent flight options....
Seem pretty easy for a beginner.
A friend recommended that as the industry standard and a good beginner quad-copter.
DJI Pantom 3 - intel flight videos

You can probably pick up a cheap one that's falling apart at the Army surplus store.

The GPS and intelligent flight modes are easy and makes it simple enough anyone can fly it. Those modes are great until they stop working mid flight and that is a possibility. So what happens when you fly by a wet tree or by a large building or water tower or in a valley and you drop enough satellites to lose GPS lock? If you are lucky you might just get a slow drift in one direction if you are not lucky your phantom could drop it's shoulder and shoot off in one direction. You had better know how to get it into ATTI mode and get it under control and back down safe. I've read entry of stories on RC forums where people's Phantom 3 have shot off fast in one direction and the user wasn't able to react quickly enough to save it from hitting something solid like the ground or building.

Of course it is highly recommended to familiarize yourself with manual controls and to practice those controls, steadily increasing your proficiency. This is important with any automated vehicle but particularly aerial ones.
The automated flight capabilities will allow beginners to increase their enjoyment and utility of the drone from day one, though. Thanks.
