Anyone Know a legit Voodoo shop in New Orleans?

Don't know about NOLA, but there was an old lady on the Breaux Bridge/ Laffy highway that could tell your future by reading playing cards. Supposedly could remove curses too.

There used to be one on Rampart. It was in a shotgun double. One half was stuff for sale, the other half was voodoo altars. They kept chickens and snakes in the courtyard in back.

Used to live around the corner and had a courtyard/balcony right by it. I'll say it wasn't touristy.

I published an ethnography on African religion. Some of the stuff in those shops could be authentic but the folks that work there don' know much. "Legit" btw simply means authentic. This stuff does not actually do what they say it does. It "works" only in the cultural sense.
