Pretty rainy day in SELA and it got me thinking about Umbrellas. I've never really used them, because I don't mind getting wet for a few seconds. The only time I might is if I'm going out, and I am dressed nice.

I also find it funny when people are waiting for the rain to stop after grocery shopping. If its a light drizzle just go! It's not gonna kill you.

Yes - the really big ones, not the cheap small ones.

unless it's really raining hard and i have a long distance to travel , i don't bother. They are usually more trouble than they are worth.

There is one in my vehicle. Unless it's a torrential downpour and I have a good ways to walk in it, I just leave it because I don't want to carry it around. I park in a garage at work and home so it's rarely used.

I have a theory that there is only a finite number of umbrellas in the world... something like 100-150 total... and they just get kind of passed around...

Thoughts?

I'm very girly and couldn't care less about the rain. I'll run thru in and be right on my way.

Now driving in it in BR, not gonna happen.

Yeah they really are! Plus you have to put them in your car soaking wet and ruin the interior. No thanks.

I use one pretty often. Mostly when I walk to the corner store or to my friends house down the road.

That's eerie because my mom told me something similar. She also said you never shite where crows eat potato salads.

I live in FL so yes; umbrellas and flip-flops are the essentials here

yeah, by the time you get the fricker closed and into the vehicle, you and the interior are wet anyway.

Yes, I do, but there is a lot more walking involved in a place like NY than there generally is down South where people tend to rely on vehicles a lot more.

To the OP: Yes

Hijack: I'm looking for a high quality umbrella. Most are flimsy and break easily. Can anyone recommend a good brand?

Some water ruins your interior? And if you're not relying on an umbrella, wouldn't you be wet anyway when you get into your car and therefore, "ruin its interior?"
