used to shoot around 5-6 days a week. bayou and ricochets are good places to shoot. clicks is good now since they dont do live music anymore.

My work schedule wont permit league. Still 4 or so pool rooms in B.R, so they must still do okay. I'm guessing selling alcohol helps.
I'm just considering getting my own table to play more.

i had my moments shooting pool, but i was more of a dart player...played a bunch of bumper pool too. i was also amazing at air hockey.

Yes. Usually just out at a bar now. I have a table out in my shed, but I haven't gotten it back in playing condition since I moved. When I rebuild my house, I'll have a billiards room.

8 or 9ft table? A good one?
That's what I'm afraid too. Don't have too many family ir friends that has time to play with. Playing alone gets boring quick for me. But I can play all day long with a friend.

They pretty much have a league every day of the week in BR. Unless youre gone for long periods of time, I can see getting a spot on a team where you play every other week.
Tbh, I wouldnt join a league out of the blue. I would just go play at a place like rickochets and you easily meet people/regulars in their playing.
Having a table is great but I got bored really quick just playing by myself on mine. Playing other people, especially people better than you, imo is the best way to get better. I used to play with one of the best guys in the city and the times playing against him was much better for my game than running racks at home by myself.

I used to play a lot back in my 20's at whatever bar my friends and I were hanging at. I remember getting hustled by some old guy in Fat City who dressed like someone straight out of The Color of Money. I was drunk as shite as it was like 4am and I kept insisting I could beat this guy. Never did 
I'm pretty sure he was a pretty well known character in Fat City
