How has it helped you? My doc suggested it to me because of my irregular shift work. I've researched it a little, but I'm always hesitant on taking things like this, as I don't want to HAVE to rely on them.

That is one of the articles I read. Sounds too good to be true.

I would say proceed with caution. This drug has not been on the market long enough for there to be any long-term studies and the side effect profile is rather limited in its scope.

I work shift work and take nuvigil which is a lot like provigil and I can tell you that it has made a world of difference for me.
Eta...I have been taking for close to 3 years now.

Why are you taking this? Never heard of it. As a night shift worker for 14 years....if I have trouble sleeping during the day I just take some Benadryl or Nyquil. I'd be too nervous to take stronger stuff.

It's amazing.

Before I took it, my life was heading into the toilet. I couldn't finish my book, and the deadline to publish was days away. I wasn't nearly finished. They were going to drop me. My girlfriend left me for someone much more successful. I was a joke. I relied on only unfulfilled potential.

Then, this drug came into my life. Wow. I remembered everything. I remembered things I skimmed over, things my mind didn't catch before. I became a genius. Then, I started trading penny stocks. Then, Wall Street. I made millions.

Don't think about it. Just do it.

My dad has been taking it for about 7 years. It helped great for about 4 years, now he crashes pretty hard if he doesn't take it regularly. He usually takes it for about two weeks and then gives it a break for a week because he builds up a tolerance. He's 65.

Nuvigil just costs more with the same result, says my dad.

I've tried one, just made my heart race a little and made me nervous. Obviously it isn't for me.

I understand. It has been aroung for over 15 yrs and in the early 2000's(2003-2004) was approved for shiftwork sleep disorder. Like many other drugs it is prescribed for a fairly wide number of things.

I have a bunch of samples at the house. It was made specifically for

irregular shift work

It feels like less intense speed. But no loss of appetite or "tweaking". I would imagine it COULD be habit forming depending on your personality and situation.
