Maybe not citizenship, but I've considered permanent resident status in Japan.

Im a dual citizen of the US and Canada

My mom was born in Canada and adopted by my US grandparents. Back then that meant she lost her citizenship.

About 12 years ago, Canada passed a law that not only gave it back to her (and others like her), but also gave it to her first generation.

I had permanent residency in Australia. I put in enough years to get citizenship, but by that point I knew I would be returning to the United States, and opted not to take it. My wife (no pics) and son have duel citizenship.

My father-in-law at one point was considering retiring to the United States. If he ever does and obtains citizenship, he would carry passports from three nations- The UK, US, and Australia.

My brother-in-law and his two children hold Canadian and Australian citizenship.

Canada and Australia are cuck countries. UK is close and probably is cuck as well by some metrics.

My future children would be dual citizens ,but it would be because I am American and my wife is German. Everyone I know who has dual citizenship is because their parents are from different countries. Becoming a dual citizen without having a parent from there in most countries is usually not that easy and involves a long term living with a job or ownership of property and/or a business and a bunch of red tape paperwork and procedures. It is not really that easy in most if any places.

I was born in Canada to American parents so I have Canadian and American citizenship. I carry two passports whenever I travel internationally. I get extra attention from airport security, it doesn't matter what country I'm in.

If you were born in(can't remember exact years) between '83 and like mid-90's to a German mother, you have automatic German citizenship regardless of where you were born. After you turn 21 or 25 you need to renew it.

Been a while since I learned this so I'm kind of fuzzy on the dates.

No, I used to have dual citizenship in the USA and the the Russian Federation (mom is from there) but gave it up because of compulsive military service in Russia. My wife has has Venuzuelan citizenship but I don't see us using that anytime soon lol.

I heard if you buy one of cheap rural houses in Japan, permanent residency is fairly easy to get.

Why carry 2? I think you do it just to look cool. Well it doesn’t look cool. It makes you look more Canadian. LOL

While America allows dual citizenship, some countries like Japan do not allow it.

For one, if I go to Canada, I have to carry both. I am required to show the Canadian one to enter Canada and the U.S. one to come back into the states. I carry them elsewhere because I can, and you never know when an extra passport might come in handy. Trust me, it actually is a hassle because I get stopped for extra security screenings every time I travel internationally. I was paged over the intercom as soon as I landed in Iceland for an interview, luggage search and bomb swipe. I'm never allowed to check in online; I always have to check in at the airport desk. I had my backpack searched three times at the airport in Rome. Like I said, it's a hassle. But, if the shite hits the fan, I'll be munching poutine in Toronto.
